Chelsea will prevent Enzo Fernandez and Mykhailo Mudryk from participating in this year’s Olympics. Both players were set to represent Argentina and Ukraine in the Olympic men’s football tournament, which starts after the Copa America and European Championship finals. With the Olympics ending just a week before the new Premier League season begins, Chelsea wants Fernandez and Mudryk to rest before joining the squad under new head coach Enzo Maresca. Fernandez, recovering from a groin injury, needs additional time to rest. Chelsea’s policy on players’ Olympic participation will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
